Apply a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher as the last step in your morning routine, every morning, all year round. Reapply if you're spending time outdoors.

I see the evidence of unprotected sun exposure every day in clinic, suspicious lesions, pigmentation, premature lines, and uneven texture that builds up over years. SPF is not a summer extra. It is the single most effective thing you can do for your skin, full stop, all year round to prevent cancer and premature ageing.

This applies to everyone , whether you're managing pigmentation, recovering from a treatment like IPL or microneedling or simply trying to hold on to the results you've worked hard for.

Scars will never 100% go but we can help to reduce their appearance. If yours has stayed red or purple for months, that colour is the problem IPL can actually target.

The light emitted during an IPL session is absorbed by haemoglobin in the blood vessels feeding the scar tissue. It heats and closes those vessels, cutting the blood supply that keeps a scar looking raised and discoloured. As vascularisation reduces, so does the redness.

It won't fully erase a scar but for post-surgical scars, acne scars, or any scarring that has held onto its colour, IPL can make a real difference to how visible it is. It can massively reduce the scars appearance.

I use the Stellar M22 at D6Derma, and I always assess the scar first its age, depth, and skin tone before deciding whether IPL is the right fit or whether a combined approach would give better results.
